This year, people all around the globe went home.

Working from home, learning from home, date nights at home, meals at home.

Home became the center of our lives again.

During this time, I began to look more closely + embracing the gifts that are right here at home… enjoying the simple pleasures of family & nature again.

I started to wonder… “could I tap into our roots (literally) to create an art collection made entirely from natural + the recycled materials within and around my very own home?”

And so the “REMNANTS OF HOME” collection began.

Focusing on nature, beauty, slow living & the essence of home.

… all of the paint is created from grinding stones out of our creek into pigment & using our chicken’s eggs as the binder.

… every piece of paper is handmade from recycled materials (mail, cardboard boxes + organic materials)

… all aspects of this collection are created entirely from the resources at my “home.”

… including help from my very own daughters who (home from school) began working in the studio with me grinding pigment + making paper.

This process has become my comfort during a time where so much is uncertain. Walks in nature offer so much physical, emotional & spiritual healing power.

I feel that while we may claim our parts of it and build our individual structures, everyone shares a home on this earth together. Having the opportunity to capture the raw beauty of this land in the form of artwork brings me so much joy.
